We start to realize the condition of our mind. We start to recognize how our mind is very busy and fast. Within this condition, it’s hard for us to be focus even to feel relax. Thus, many problem appears such as anxiety, worries, stress or even frustration. When the mind is feeling agitated, the body become agitated. It’s hard for us to feel good in our body.

 
This retreat is focusing on understanding the nature of the mind. We will talk about the mind character and within the experience, participants may be able to witness the inter-dependent relationship between the body and the mind. Thus, participants must understand and experience that the mind is NOT ONLY consist of the analytical-mind, but the mind is consist of the thinking process, feelings and emotions, the creation and the ending.
 
Practice during retreat including conceptual talk, group refuge, personal well-being consultation and practical as is asana, meditation, energetic therapy and trauma release.

Balinese Yoga Healing Retreat

“We do not heal the past by dwelling there; we heal the past by living fully in the present.” – Marianne Williamson. As we watched the pieces of our life stories fading away, we are preparing for the dawn of a new age, the age at which the life is said to begin.

We are like a butterflies preparing to break free from the chrysalis into the light, ready to spread our wings and feel what it is to be free, a freedom that is born from a deep realization in this healing journey.

The catalyst for this journey of introspection was the breaking of our hearts. Our hearts that was hardened from many old wounds, scars from turbulent past. The hearts that was shattered with an astounding glory that it felt as though it will remain forever broken and disconnected from ourselves, the wonder of the delusional thoughts that live inside each and every one of us.

As we watch the pieces of our hardened heart crumble to dust, we keep learning to understand and find something buried deep within. A consciousness that we had never before felt or experienced. The understanding of the consciousness by witnessing the feelings, the pain, the fear.

We have dealt with the previous pain, fear and anxiety by suppressing this extreme feelings or distracting ourselves with work, parties and avoiding of time alone. This time, in this retreat, is going to be different. Instead of suppressing the feelings, we will allow ourselves just to be.

These feelings that want to arise, will arise. And we will learn to recognize them and let them be. The feelings that will make us understand who we really are and rejuvenate our hearts. Heal the hearts and allow us to reborn within this life time.

Within the process we will learn and prove to ourselves that no fear is greater than the strength we have within us. And our life will never be the same. We will dive into ourselves and dig up all we had buried, in every skeleton and every corner of our joints. Look face-on at the parts of ourselves that we love by opening, understanding and healing every wounds we had ever allowed ourselves to carry.

We will walked ourselves through each memories and let us learn knowledge from them. For each and every situation we learn to observed and accept the responsibilities for all parts in all situations. We will learn to sit with our understanding of emotion, not judging or criticizing, just observing and allowing it to just be.

Within this week of retreat, we will begin our journey and bring calmness and sense of peace to our experience. Each shining path of the enlightenment will come to us as we learn about ourselves layers by layers, and we will find ourselves to be more present and living in the moment. The powerful energy from places we visit and the energy from our healing center will induce the healing process, renew ourselves, and give us protection when we return home.

When we first hear about meditation or pranayama or asana yoga, many of us think that it is something complicated, something we cannot do or don’t have time for or something reserved for only certain types of people. The truth is, when we finally make time to do it, we may understand that it’s something we can do and will help us to understand ourselves better. All of these practice is aiming to help us become more relax.  We will learn to allow our mind to rest, while the body is having time to heal. We will learn to connect our body and our mind and synchronize the language that might be lost between the two parts.

Healing Breath & Trauma Release Therapy

As we breathe every day, we might think that our breath is something that is not so special. Thus, we have taken advantages of our breath. We never think of the breath during our daily life, cos we think there are many more things that is more important than the breath such as work or money. We don’t realize that without breathing, there is no life.

Through this practice we will learn a technique to approach our feelings with our breath. We will learn to understand and differentiate the complicated relation between emotion and feelings itself. We learn that emotion is something in the surface, while the deep within lied down feelings that we never touch, or even want to see. When we understand truly about how we feel, we will know what we want, thus we know what we should do in this life. Following the true desire and hidden talents that we always have. We may finally do things we love and find happiness in this life.

Practice making offering and Balinese Purification

In Balinese tradition, each of the purification required offerings that is made with natural material such as coconut leaves, flowers and fruits. The making process of this banten (the offerings in Balinese language) is as sacred as the purification process itself. Each of the offering represent the connection our our life and what is the goal of our life. Connecting each relation with the energy of the Paramatma Sang Hyang Widhi who inhabit each of our soul and give direction in this life.

The offering will be made by each of us (participants) with the direction from the assistant of the priest, who will led the purification ceremony. On the purification process we will use the banten that we have made. Purification ceremony is not only to cleanse the physical body, but also to enlighten the mental body. Create tranquility and peace in the mind also feelings of contentment in the heart.

Visit to the Biggest Botanical Garden on the island

We will visit a large tropical botanic park located in the central of the island, about 56 km from Denpasar area. This park is place for botanical research, conservation, recreation and education. It provide a place where we can relax in a beautiful and peaceful surround while learning about the function of the plants in our daily life. The park provides vast cool space to enjoy and meditate, also to practice yoga asana under the trees. This one day is going to be “back to nature” day for all of us!

Balinese Purification (Melukat)

Melukat is the ceremony that is spiritually purification the mind and the soul. This ceremony only carried out in the good day in it’s tradition. Purifying spiritually means a process to remove bad influence or klesa (Balinese term). Klesa translated as “dirty”, there are four klesas which are: Awidya (soul darkness that is come from egoist), Asmitha (attachment & craving), Dvesa (rejection and hatred) and Abhinivesa (fear). As this klesa always exist in human, the ceremony helps to reduce the klesa in the mind realm, thus can help the person to feel to calm and peaceful.

The first purification will take place at our home perform with the priest and the second purification will perform at the ocean. We believe that one of the most powerful source to cleanse ourselves is the ocean at dawn.

Art and Expression

One view of emotional expression in art is that, “It is proceeded by an excitement from a vague cause about which is a person uncertain and therefore they become anxious. This person then proceed to express their feeling and ideas through words or paint or stone, something they can create and they love to do, to clarify them and achieve the release of a tension.”

Instead of reflecting states of the external world, art is held to reflect the inner state of a person. At least, seems to be implicit in the core meaning of “expression” as the outer manifestation of an inner state. Through art, we will closer to ourselves. We allow the idea to be projected and manifest these ideas into the reality.

Balinese Yoga Healing Retreat will be on 8 – 13 October 2018.

At our shala, the private yoga classes will be performed at our tranquil open area wooden house. The schedule for private yoga classes at our shala is on Monday to Sunday anytime during 10.30 AM – 17.00 PM. Price for private classes at our shala starts from 250.000 per person, deepen on the material of practice. We also provide private wellness consultation, private breathing practices, chakra healing and injuries refinement.

If you are away from Sanur, our teachers would be happy to travel to your beautiful home as well. Prices are deepen on how far your place from our shala. Prices based on the area are below:

IDR 450.000, max 2 persons for Sanur and Denpasar area.

IDR 600.000, max 2 persons for Kuta and Seminyak area.

IDR 750.000, max 2 persons for Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Canggu area.

Lilik is a yoga teacher. She is the founder of Umah Shakti Yoga. Her dedication to the the desire of bhakti gives the greatest motivation to start the yoga journey in her life.

she has started her practice for more 10 years, in a public and private classes. About 2 years ago she decided to take her first yoga teacher training at Yayasan Ananda Marga in Bali. Since then, her life has turned to different dimension. Yoga teaching has helped her to understand the meaning of life and she gains more understanding through all of the teaching, sharing and learning process.

The asana practice with Lilik is gentle and relaxing. She often add some twist and surprise such as therapeutic massage during classes which help many of her student to feel more comfortable for the practice. Breathing and meditation has always become the core of each of the practice, thus help to gain focus and concentration throughout the practice.
